Incredibly it took me three years to find and love your reaction to John Denver's Annie's Song from the wildlife Concert. I really enjoyed it. John wrote this beaiful song in 1973 in the time it took to take a 12 minute ski lift ride near his home in Aspen, Colorado. He and Annie had a row, maybe one of many, shortly before, so John took a ski lift ride to give himself the time and space to think. In the course of that skilift ride John noticed in the wonders and beauties of nature everything he loved dearly about his marriage to Annie. The words just came to him and he hurried home to get the song down on paper and minutes later he sang Annie's Song to Annie. The song was a huge hit for John in 1974 in many countries around the world., providing him with his only Number 1 in the UK The song remains one of John's greatest hits long after his death in 1997. It has become one of the world's most popular and most played wedding songs, not least because Annie is never mentioned by name in the song. She is in the title and that's it. Sadly John's marriage to Annie eventually unravelled and they divorced, but Annie's Song remains one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

Not the only such example. Most people (I was one of them) think Whitney Houston wrote I Will Always Love You, but Dolly Parton wrote it in the 70s and sang it first. I love both versions but it still feels like Whitney’s song to me.

This song shows the perfect blend & harmony the brothers have. Especially if you do the acoustic one. Just the 3 of them with 2 guitars! I love the best to this song! Barry & Robin leads. This is Where I Came in (live) (pop). From the very last CD they ever released. There is a live version out there from a tv show. That's a great one to see how they have evolved into the 2000's! The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor). This is a little long (over 12 min), but they go through about 7-9 songs in this medley with just the 3 of them around 1 mic either Barry in the guitar.

I'm australian and heard many singers growing up in a scottish family. Especially with the beautiful mix we have here in Australia. And I'm 58. But my all time favourite singer by far is Paul Roberson. He was not only at the top of his era. But also a battler for the little man. He did things in his life most would not beleive.even becoming a hero for brittish coal miners .

This was the song in the movie Showboat. A big hit. He was a famous activist for civil rights and was banned from films. He never gave up. Amazing Grace is done by him. The composer of the song Amazing Grace was a white slave ship captain who repented and later became a preacher in England.
